Just purchased a 2023 R1M and I'm trying to decide between a full Arrow or full Akrapovic, I know I will get a little more hp from the Akro but the Arrow sounds amazing......what do you guys think?

Both are quality exhaust. For my preference, i prefer a bit of muffling to tone down exhaust note. The can setup is too loud for me. I went with the Akrapovic Evolution GP Exhaust. Very satisfied with quality and noise. I believe arrow has both can and muffler setup too. Cant go wrong with either! Just go with your preference!

Akrapovic is in fashion these days, especially since Audi/VW bought the company. Those who have been riding for a few years will know that Akra wasn't always the best. It was a middle grade exhaust company that was often passed up for a Yoshi or Termi. But times have changed I guess, all of a sudden it is a $10K system on some Ducatis. Lol. Arrow has been around for many years and they make great systems for Triumph and other exotics such as MV Agusta F series bikes. Go for Arrow if you want quality. If you want raw sound, Austin Racing, SC project or any of those beer can exhausts will give you the loudest sound. Cheers.

I actually don't recommend full systems on 2015+ R1's, I know people in the sportbike community that have blown engines as a result. But hey its your bike, do as you want, but consider yourself warned.

I have a really hard time believing that a blown engine was due to a full system being added. Lets see some concrete evidence instead of you just saying you know people.

I have the 3/4 Akro on my R1 and have bought the full system Arrow. It's a race bike so a full system makes sense, wouldn't do it for a road bike as the gains really don't justify the price.

Having said that, you can find an Arrow full system for a much better price than a Akro cause as some have mentioned Akrapovic became a fashion item it seems and charges a premium for it. It's especially cheap if you go for stainless steel headers instead of Titanium. I only got the Ti header version cause it was on sale for a very similar price of the SS otherwise I wouldn't have bothered as the weight difference between them is negligible.

They'll both put out similar hp numbers and if that's what you're chasing, I'd be more worried about getting a good tuner than choosing between those 2 brands.
