They are probably going to be sued by Hasbro

Asks that Sales of "Ghettopoly" Stop

Hasbro is angry, and when Hasbro becomes angry, people die!
Okay, okay... People don't die. But talk of lawsuits start.

What is making the toy manufacturing giant angry? A game called "Ghettopoly," manufactured by David Chang.

Alternately referred to as "highly offensive" and "racist," Chang's product relies heavily on Hasbro's classic game, Monopoly, for its gameplay structure and look. It's basically a Monopoly clone.

To this point, Hasbro has not engaged in legal action, though they have threatened it. "We want to make it clear that Hasbro has absolutely no connection to the reprehensible 'Ghettopoly' game," said Frank Bifulco, President of Hasbro's U.S. Games. "Mr. Chang's game violates our Monopoly game intellectual property rights and Hasbro plans to bring suit against Mr. Chang if he does not immediately stop selling the game."

In a press release, Chang has stated that "Ghettopoly is controversial because its both fun and real life. The graphics on the board depict every race in the country and both genders. It draws on stereotypes not as a means to degrade, but as a medium to bring together in laughter. If we can’t laugh at ourselves and how we each utilize the various stereotypes, then we’ll continue to live in blame and bitterness."
