Ducati's Eric Bostrom shattered the lap record at Daytona International Speedway today aboard his Ducati 999R superbike during the first round of qualifying for Saturday's 200 mile classic. The lap record previously belonging to Honda's Nicky Hayden (and established before a change in the track configuration last year -- that actually made lap times longer) was 1:47.174, and Eric Bostrom is the first rider ever to dip under that time, recording a 1:46.835.

Eric has some mad skillz to keep an old machine like Kwak near or on podium.
Now he's on Ducati. This year will be more competitive.
I wanna see all Manufacturer up front. Puts out more show for the viewers.

Also I saw HAGA come back and Grab podium in 2nd race in WSBK. Nice.....

Haga-san looked pretty awesome on the 999, but you could tell he wasn't down with the Pirelli's. He almost lost it with a few laps to go. It's a shame they're forcing everyone to ride on one brand. Frankie Chili was looking strong as well, the old guy on the outdated 998, beating 999's.

Daytona hasn't been kind to Ducati's, and it would be great to see Eboz win, but that track is freaky. Leading the last lap is almost the kiss of death, with the serious drafting going on.

It's gonna be a great year! :thumbup
