I posted this message on Gixxer.com a while ago when I had my Gixxer 1k but now I have a R1 again and having gotten my last R1 stolen I'm trying to keep this one secured tight. Does anybody know of a reasonably priced ground anchor system to lock up the bike with. Also any other antitheft suggestions would be much appreciated.

You should use an electric hammer drill with a masonry bit to drill the hole. Then you need the proper sized masonry bit to do the drilling. You will ruin a regular bit in about 5 seconds. I don't know about the epoxy, but I do know that you want a heavy-f*ckin-duty eyebolt for that job. It has to be a solid loop with no gaps in it. I'd think that there is propbably one MADE for just this purpose. A chain or cable is only as good as it's weakest link, so do your homework on that one. Anyone have a suggetsion or answer?? I'll be watching this thread, I'm moving into townhome soon that doesnt have a garage. If I find something, I'll post it.

what kind of drill would you use? would i use just a regular drill? anybody know?
Yep - hammer drill for sure!!! Mine is sunk about 4 inches deep. I use a 1/2 inch thick kryptonite chain that is about 8' long and wrap it around my swingarm (not wheel).

Know fyi - this is inside my locked double car garage that is attached to my house. It is simply added peace of mind for me. I even live in a quiet neighborhood (mind you they are the areas that people usually rob...)

I mad several of these up. They are made of s/s 10mm plate and high tensile steel U bolts. Drill 4 holes in the plate and tig the U bolt onto the plate. Dyna bolt it to the floor in the right place and either weld the nut to the plate or round off the thread so they can't be removed, then just add a dirty big chain and lock and hopefully you won't encounter a determined thief, cause if they really want it nothing is going to stop them....

Is that a "Home Depot" job or did you purchase that anchor? I hear home depot sells these really nice links and you can even purchase sleeves for the links.
