Nah.. as said before.. you are as cool as any of the R1 riding members on here and just as welcome..

I just think that with all the 04 R1 talk around here.. magazine dyno numbers.. which bike will win the mag shootouts.. how much does the 04 handle than the 02.. is the 04 worth trading my older R1 in.. what will happen in a drag race versus the ZX12 or Busa..

we forget that the point of "racing on sunday" is to "sell on monday"..

the super sport & stock classes are so important to me, because it shows what a bike that i can buy off the showroom floor is capable of..

Not that I'd ever have the capability to ride my R1 to any of its racetrack potential like these guys are doing.. but it still feels good to know that machine that is capable of 'beating the best' in its first meetings with all the other bikes in class..

Not just the R1, but the R6.

That speaks volumes for Yamaha's commitment to winning. And reassures the quality and bragging rights I've spent my hard dollars on.

Nothing more sucked than watching all the Suzuki "OWN THE RACETRACK" ads last year, and constantly be passed in a straight line by Gix1000 riders.

I'm not an 04 R1 owner yet, but hope to be one by mid-summer and it will be nice to know that my bike is just as competitve as the next guys..

even if my skills arent.. *lmao* !!

Now if Yamaha could just get the M1 as competitive as the RC211V and Duc Desmo.. I'd be happy all around!

Actually the M1 is more competitive than the Duc... Also, this couple of days Yamaha team is testing their new "more hp" engine in Australia. :rock Too bad they couldn't do much on the first day due to bad weather...
