For those of you that are in the paint industry of know how to paint, I want to paint my mid farings from black to red. how much would I be looking at $$$ wise? any body? Let me know. I'm doing this because I scratched my left mid and lower faring a bit. so, if I can save some money painting them over replacing them I'll go for it.

Thanks!!!

The only thing is that the candy red is a tri coat on the 07's if im not mistaken. And if my memory serves me right, red is an expensive color to paint anyway. But id say 300ish to paint them id say...dont quote me on that tho lol
Tri coat paint has to be bought by the pint usually..At 40 bucks a pint you are looking at 80$ at least for color..then Clear coats,etc...Then labor..Then is it going to match in color? Red? I doubt it..

You could paint a black stripe over the damaged area and do the same to the other side or cover up the damage with some kind of graphic design..

For what it might cost to repair it, a new already painted part is not as expensive as one might have thought..

Frame sliders are the first best mod to any sport bike..

Will it be hard to match it even if it is the exact same color paint??

I went to my dealer and ask for prices: the lower is 150 and the upper is 275 will it be better to buy them new rather than re paint it? I like the all red scheme.
What you guys think???
if the idea is just to repair, then just byuy new ones, by the time your done with materials for paint

1 pint base/reducer
1pint mid color
1qrt clearcoat/hardener
1 qrt primer,reducer,hardener
sand paper etc etc

just here in decent quality your lookin at 185-200 buks
still need paint gun, polisher, polishing compounds, etc etc

just buy new ones unless you plan on repainting the whole bike

can anyone give me the paint code for 1999 R1 red? white? and black? please
