Looking for anyone that might know the correct HID model number for a 01 Yamaha R1. Been looking around and even went to their site and had no luck with a bike model numbers.

Any help would be great.

any HID's with a H4 buld will work, you might want to spend extra for the H4 HID that had the high beam function,

Is wattage an issue? I don't want to melt anything, but would like to get better visibility.

I would recommend against getting bi-xenon (low and highbeam) HID's. You'll run into more problems then it's worth.

Wattage is not an issue. HID's run cooler and draw less current then a regular halogen bulb.

A few on the forum have already converted to a bi-xenon HID setup with no problems.

redyamahar1: bi-xenon lights, What type of price am I looking at? Also know a site where I would be able to order them? Installation the same as the regular bulbs?

True, the headlights on that 99 R1 are 00-01 headlights, the front end was convertd to a 2000-2001 nose cone, fairing stay and headlights.
