Ok, I did my own 600 mile service,

When I changed the oil I was very consious of doing it right, I put in 3.5 liters and then looked into the sight glass and added the rest. I started it and the oil came to half way up the sight glass, well I go riding last night and now the shifting is really notchy and the oil is up to the top of the sight glass, How did the oil level go up?

How do I fix this?

Is this what is causeing the shifting to act weird?




Please help, I know I am stupid, I just can't figure out how I messed it up and don't want to screw up a new bike.

Drop the oil plug to let out some more oil. Don't worry about letting out to much because you can always add more as needed. I have no idea about the notchy shifting.

you only add 3.5 litres wen you do a filter change too. I bet you only changed the oil and thats your problem. Like GXRKLR
stated above just unscrew your oil plug and let a little bit out. Crank the bike for 30 seconds and check it again upright. Let out more if you need to.

Are you checking the oil while the bike is running? It should be at normal op temp and then shut it off and check the level after 5 minutes
