You can (maybe) just try un-hooking the can and the mid pipe (at the frame) and gently force the filter out.

Almost,even my 99 with Yosh duplex needs to have the can unbolted and the mid pipe unbolted to pry the exhaust a bit;not very good for the headers gaskets though.

And the diff. between Akrapovic headers is down to config. (race,evolution,street)
