I’ve only been into motorcycles for about 7 years. I’m on my 3rd bike and still don’t have the poise or skills to ride with full confidence. I presumed it had a lot to do with lack of experience. A couple of months ago, I bought a Yamaha TTR 125 and spent the whole winter beating the piss out of that bike on the local trails. I executed jumps, wheelies, burnouts, stoppies, and the like and found that when I fired up the ONE last month that my skills have greatly improved. If you have the loot to spend, I recommend getting a dirt bike to tool around on. You may find that your proficiency will increase on the road.

I grew up riding dirt bikes...I believe it made me a much better rider on the street...When the back of the one starts coming out it doesn't bother me...when the front comes up or starts shaking...eh...no problem...just reminds me I'm riding a motorcycle...Highly recommend riding dirt for skill building...
