Ok I've done this for a bunch of my bikes and my cars, so I thought i'd do a write up.

Things you will need...
1) Extreamly sharp exacto knife or set... if its not razor sharp don't use it. A sharp small tipped one helps.
2) a section of vynil aprox 5 x 11 inches (i prefered matt black).
3) a printer.
4) a hairdryer
5) bout an hours worth of time.

First off its way to easy to scratch the tripple t with keychains etc. So what I do is I take some vynil and make a protector for it.

BTW... read this entire thing through before starting it.

Step 1... print off this template I made... the jpg should come out 10.75 inches by 5 inches. (you'll have to print it in landscape and probably the edges will be cut off but its easy to guess where the lines are.

Step 2... Cut out the template... note the only hole you need to cut completely will be the middle where the steering stemp nut goes through. Remove the grey regions on the template and the outer... don't bother cutting out the other holes they were more or less for my marking. Line it up and make sure it fits first.

Step 6... Trim out the fork tube holes, key hole, and Steering stem nut... the only one that has to match exactly is the steering stem... the others can be sloppy. Remember I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE for any personal harm or damage to properties... exacto knifes are sharp and should not be played with. :) thats my legal disclaimer.

Step 7... make sure your tripple clamp and vynil is warm... use a hairdryer to heat it up. (yeah it was cold here thats why I had to heat up the tripple). Sorry for poor quality pics too follow, I had to have the nightvission on because it was nighttime and there wasn't enough light.

Step 13... Cut out the vynil around the yamaha logo, plugs, and fork tubes. Now BE CAREFULL DO NOT SCRATCH your tripple T... You want to slightly poke the knife through the vynil and trace the edge of the circles WITHOUT touching bottom. The knife that you should have been using should have had a sharp blade on it. The knife should cut it like butter with no pressure at all, if it snags for some reason STOP and back off then retry. Never cut into the metal just use it as a guide to slowly move you around it.
