Hi Guys,

Where's the best place to draw power from around the instrument cluster?

I would like it hooked up with the ignition obviously, so when the key is on, the circuit is live.

headlight? The ignition is right there as well, but headlight is easier to steal power from. also the running wire for the turn signals....

what are you trying to get power for? GPS?

I'm just after 12v to connect a cigarette lighter to for powering little devices I have. (Camera, GPS, lights etc.)

Just wasn't sure what lines I could tap into without causing problems elsewhere.

in that case the best place would most likely be the battery. That way you can use a fuse for the individual circuit. I think most of the cigarete lighters you can buy for a motorcycle come with wiring including an inline fuse.

Not that exciting, but it's the right way to do it.

You can do an inline fuse yourself easy enought either way if you wish.
