but how fun is that on a scale from 1 to 10? eh

Wouldn't mind being there but when it's 25c here in Sweden I can't really leave. :D
Too bad I don't have any rubber left on my tires.. so I can't ride either. Doh! kill me

It was on Speed here last nite. Yeah, I LOVE that race. I have a buddy, Peter Small from Idaho who raced there in 97 on his street GSX_R750. He averaged 106 mph, and ALMOST got the newcomer award! He had a write up in " Bike" magazine and another one I can't remember.
He's always told me I'd go good there. he says it's just like the Alsea Hwy with a few jumps thrown in;)
IF I can get over there before I get too old or embarassly slow, my wifey says she'll let me do it. We'll see. Some things would have to line up, but MAN what a great experience that would be. Then I think I could totally retire from racing..........;)

Better get over there quick, each year the speed restricted areas get a bit bigger, and you get fined something like £5/mph over the limit....expensive you get caught. Still nothing beats blatting past a cop car on the mountain at 150mph - all perfectly legal!

Do you remeber the aticles about Peter Small? They called him " The Mad Yank":lol I haven't ridden with him except at the track in many years............. too many wide eyed stories about those rides:p Actually, he busted himself up pretty good about 2 years ago down in northern California when he hit a deer at a buck plus. He's riding again, but looks a little worse for the wear.;)

Olddog....the Mad Yank???

No, haven't heard of Mr Small???....tell me more. There's an Amercan guy called Wade Boyd who enters the TT every year, middle-aged with coloured hair - he isn't a top runner or anything but seems to go in for every class, 600s, 1000s & even the sidecars.

David Jefferies went great in this years F1 and lapped the circiut in under 18 mins (1st rider to do it) - average speed of @127mph....TT rider have some cahoona's!

TT Results

Blur,

No R1's won this year unfortunately, David Jeffries who rode the V&M R1 last year switched to the TAS Suzuki squad this year and won both the F1 & Senior races, setting a new lap record of 127mph, getting round the course in 17mins 52 secs - some going! All the other results should be on www.iomtt.com

Have a look at www.iomtt.com for the results.

I was over spannering for a mete of mine Dave Calwell who was racing an OW01 in the Formula 1 race. A 13 year old bike against all the factory boys!

I had to withdraw him from the race on his first pitstop as his output shaft seal had blown....he thought it was getting slippy!

He still managed to lap quicker than Dwight Mitchell on the factory MV though!!

I'd never race there though tooooo scary!
