Hi Swedie and whoever else is in charge of the forum. I was thinking that it sure would be cool if you can find some time (or space) to add a real time chat room just for us members to brag and chat our lives away here.maybe cleaning some old and useless treads and some videos might make some room to add this? I dont know how many people here think that this would be a good addition to this already awesome site,Well post your opinion on what you think about this.Thanks for hearing me out.:thumbup

Its been talked about before but nothing ever came of it Maybe we could start up some kinda R1 Forum Chat through ICQ or one of those other instant messengers !! It does sound like a good idea though !!

well it isnt a bad idea at all though ... BUT u should think this idea over again ... even because we all know that every fucking day at least 1 moron will enter the chatroom to get some trouble started in there . so due to this fact... WHO should be able to kick his ass ? u would need "special" users to kick , leech or ban ppl . but making members a special user will cause a lot of trouble as well and i really dont think that swedie would have enuff time to be an op in that room.
the best thing to get a place to chat is to create an own room on efnet or elsewhat IRC network . get some 24/7 eggdrops in there and set swedie and another trusted guy as the master of those bots . well the good thing on a message forum like this is : u r able to delete every fucking anoying thread . but on a realtime chat u cant !

oh and my own opinion 'bout webchats 'n stuff : THAT CRAP SUX MAJOR ASS ! ( irc is pretty KEWL , even coz u could use UNIX clients to log on ... everything webbased is just cheesy though )

well i have been on lotsa forums in the past years , and normally i read more than i write or post ( main reason is because im not native english and i hate making a lot of typos ) anyways this board is very special because we have some really good and grown up guys around here . if someone gets pissed , they'll handle it themselfes ( mostly ) and then the life is fine again . u know what i mean ... the main reason for the behavior of the ppl is the "tone" of the site admin and HIS behavior ! and swedie is a very good diplomate ( in my own opinion ) he really did a good job here ( this is NO asslicking ) please understand me right ... if you ... or better if "we" r going to make someone else an OP or elsewhat crap it will only causing trouble though ... and if u guys would like to chat why not just open a room somewhere on an IRC network ? if it grows , we always could run our own IRC server later or build an own small IRC network . the problem with those ICQ and AIM shit is : unsecure , advertising shit every fucking minute , PRON spam every second ... and its based on WINDOZE ! i like IRC because its a place for all users . either if they use MirC for windowse or BitchX for linux/UNIX .

so if u guys plan to go to an IRC network , i would like to donate a 24/7 eggdrop with swedie as the master on a 100mbit server ( running FreeBSD 4.5-stable)

feeling that if I make a real-time chat, people will pick the chat rather than doing a new thread and maybe have to wait 2 minutes longer. ... the forum would "die"...

Besides, what's the point of using a channel to chat?
you know there's problems like:

1) many people won't log on at the same time

2) with problem #1, people will miss the posts

3) some of the user's can't chat while in their work

**4) with the forum, people can leave their questions/opinions and someone can answer it after some time, others can read it, unlike chat where you must answer fast.

We can always re read other people's opinion, while in chat you can miss

5) Sweedie have more power in this forum

I agree the chat thing would do more harm to the forum itself than good. We could put our ICQ,AIM,MSIM,Yahoo,etc.... names on our profiles and people could see them under the user names.Just a thought. Everyone has good points to make,especially the point about some ass in a chat room trying to start problems,we try and keep it cool in here and everyone seems to make our job very easy to do..........Thanks guys,yall :rock

I agree with yoshira, why try to improve something that's almost perfect!!! I like that I can go back and check older threads for some useful information. Most of us work and we could be missing some awesome chats the other way, This way we talk to each other, all the time, all over the world. (Wow! what a concept!)You do a great job Swedie!!!:rock

O BTW, I finally drug on the right side last nite! woo hoo. not that it really mattas anyway. I got so sick of seeing that one chicken strip on that side. Now I don't hafta hahhaah
