Dear all:
I've really done my best try and pass on as much info and discounts to everyone I can...I've always done that with my home riding group - and it was fun to get people involved here- people all over the country, people I have met through this board via kilobytes and then meet in person in the twisties...But today was the last straw.
I will not be doing any more group buys...and it's really kind of sad because I think alot of people benefited from it. You end up mostly with a bunch of happy people and then suddenly one or a few assholes with a hidden agenda come in, talk shit to try and elevate themselves and for me, I take it too personally, because when I do put these things together I do it only for products which I myself use and feel are worthwhile. Ironically, I spend alot of time on this shit and really don't profit from it any further than anyone else - I just get the same discounted price....but it's a good strategy, strength in numbers - without the people involved none of us would get this price, and to me the real satisfaction is seeing people stoked about being invovled, THAT is the real reward to me.
I'm specifically pissed off because today I posted an article which said some great things about alot of exhausts, but specifically Devil. Rob at Devil did us all a solid and kept a group buy going for an extended period of time and opened it to all of us. The response was huge, and there was virtually nothing but great feedback...Today, I try and post an article to give a little good press to Rob, who did go out of his way for all of us, and some scumbag rags on Devil with nothing but bullshit and a hidden agenda....
To Mike McCoy (whoever you are): (A) I feel really sorry for you and your business...I feel sorry because chances are you are a straight shooter and unfortunately have the wrong people speaking out for you saying the wrong things....When people try to stick up for your business but do so by dogging another one, it reflects VERY poorly on you, as well as the other person.
(B) I really feel sorry for you if YOU ARE the guy that did the talking, hiding behind some screen name....I really hope this was not the case - but if it was I can't think of something scummier to do as a businessman -- Rag a good guy unjustly just to try and get a few customers - in business, the truth shows, always - and THAT will not be missed... I won't even post the business name as a courtesy (but you can find it in another thread very easily) I just really hope VMR1 isn't a code name for 'mike mcCoy' because if it is I wouldn't be surprised if you NEVER get another order from anyone on this board!
To everyone that has gotten involved with PC3's, Devil pipes, Scotts or Ohlins Dampers, 520 chain conversions or anything else I've tried to get great deals on, I hope you enjoy them - and I'm sorry that I won't be getting involved anymore, but as usual, one or two shitheads kinda ruin it for the rest, so today is no exception.
