Was curious to see how the R1 WSBK effort was shaping up.

Apparently, not great. The ZX-10 and the CBR1000RR seem to be significantly faster in the initial Valencia test.

Went to Kawi's web site for ZX-10 info. Web site be ugly, ZX-10 be ugly, we (04-R1) be so pretty!

I hope Yamaha wins Superstock!

The team in WorldSBK is a private team with no factory support from Yamaha. All manufacters pulled factory support from this series except Ducati.

As noted in previous posts about this, the Kwak and Honda while not "factory" supported, they are being supported by groups such as Honda of Europe and Kawasaki of Europe. The Yamaha does not have that. So the other two bikes have a much better budget to work with, probably better riders, and better parts.

Actually, the YART web site says that the R1 "came from Japan". The statement is worded to imply that they received a developed machine from Japan. Doesn't say from Yamaha, but who else in Japan would be sending them the bike? It may be safe to assume that Yamaha is doing its initial WSBK testing through YART.

Hey folks, look at the names first, you cannot really expect from "nobodies" to keep up with people like Vermeulen. also give them some time with the new bike!
I expect them to get better, but they would need better riders to be on top.

No one gives a rats ass about super bike this year. As mentioned, there is little to no factory support in it... The series to watch will be motogp, and ama super stock (finger of shame to speed for not showing it)....
