Keyless gas cap with pivot?

884 Views 5 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Papawle
Does anyone make a key-less gas cap with a pivoting lid (like OEM)?

I like the style of the Driven, Rizoma, etc..
Just have a bad feeling eventually I'd set it down to fill up and the cap would drop and get dinged, damaged, or dented.

Like the idea of a pivoting lid, just dont like the key hassle.

May end up modding mine if I can't buy one.

No!
i doubt that any aftermarket do any lid like OEM. The reason why all aftermarket manufactories do the lid the way they do is to make it easier to quick fill ur tank.
Thanks for the reply.
I'm wanting a lid with an easy and a carefree fill up.
Setting the cap on the seat or wherever during the fillup is not carefree to me.
Not really a big deal, just checking to see if there's one out there to buy.
If not, I'll probably mod mine.

After dropping my cap and denting it I've been looking for some way to secure it during fill ups as well. I was thinking of gluing a small neodymium on the tank and hoping the little steel lock tab would stick. But if anyone has a better solution I'm all ears.
Safety wire with a plastic tubing sleeve? The sleeve could be clear or colored. You could also add a safety pin clip on the anchor end if you wanted to remove completely.

This is my biggest fear lol

Not gonna lie, i have a key less cap and the lid is definitely an awkward thing to deal with when filling up, i put mine on the v part of our seat(back of it) but sometimes theres gas on it and my gloves end up having that smell. Its nice to fill up with out the key but I wouldn't say its that much more convenient
