i have an 06 with gutted cat and baffle kit. last nite when i went for a short ride when i was at idle i heard this knocking sound. but the bike still ran perfect so i dont get what the deal is. has anyone ran into this?

did you overrev the bike? How is your oil level? how loud is it, can you post a vid on youtube?

well it has a rev limiter. so i dont think you can actually over rev it. on the weekends though i have a secluded spot though where me and my buddies will top out. so over a year and a half i prolly have a good 20 minutes worth of 6 gear redline but i dont see how that would hurt anything. i do hit rev limiter sometimes in 6th gear. oil was just changed about 1k ago. i was using yamalube but going to switch to amsoil next time. oil levels are fine. im going to go for a ride today and see if its still doing it. if it is i'll post up a vid.

you can overrev it actually by doing a mechanical overrev. That happens if you downshift to 1st gear a little to fast. Even if it has a rev limiter, it will go over it.yeah post a vid and let's hear the noise.

Not to say its related to the noise that you are hearing, but after I installed the baffle kit from time to time I can hear the rivits vibrating in the end caps.
