Hi everyone,

Need your help.
I tried searching the forum, but came up empty.
I just bought the following LED Conversion for 09 R1:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/191536063772?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

By any chance, any have something similar on their bike?
Looking for some pics/videos on installation. It's easy to install... im more concerned with the way to hide the transformer and the heat sink which seems to be much larger in diameter than the headlight cover cap. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Albert

The ballast are easy to hide, you're gonna have to drill a big hole in the headlight dust cap, no way around it, but it shouldn't be hard to do.
I was afraid someone might say it :(
The shape of the heat sink will make it impossible i think to silicone the whole to make sure no air/water gets in.

Not sure if its worth it and if I should go with the regular HID kit.

Ok, thank for your answer

Nah the dust cover should be corrugated so itll stretch out further (depthwise) so you can usually make it just smaller than the size of the heatsink on the bulb and squeeze the bulb through, the heatsink is deeper than the stock bulb so itll keep tension on the dust cover....same way I have my HIDs.
are you able to send a pic on how you have your set up if its not a problem?

I believe a slight technicality makes LED headlight retrofits illegal for normal driving lights. These LEDs will produce roughly the same amount of light as a good 6k 35watt HID kit.
gotchya.

well i actually decided to return these LEDs and go with DDM HID kit.
This heatsink will be a pain to install and create more mess in the end for me.
So ill just stick to HID kit that i know will work.

Go with theretrofutsource kit if you didn't already purchase ddm, it has a 5 year warranty and is a very high quality product I love mine. The color temp is more true than other brands as well
i didnt order ddm yet... theretrofutsource are pretty expensive though... ill def think about it and do more research

They are kind of expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for when it comes to HIDs.They're 150 for a H4 Moto kit and imho is totally worth every penny. No flicker, great quality bulbs and the ballast and wires are all good quality as well. If you can save up another 50 you wont regret it
I see. Well thank you for the info. Maybe ill go with them.
Foe me the biggest thing is doing this right and only one time. I dont want to replace a ballast or a light bulb after spending 2 hours installing everything. So you get what you pay for I guess.

This guy is correct.

What other aftermarket HID company you know of that will put out a recall even if they suspect a defective product???

TRS put out a recall on 1 set of ballasts and sent me 2 sets of the newer style ballasts in return. For free. I didn't even have to ship the recalled set back to them. All I did was cut the wires to make the product inoperable and send pictures of them.

Didn't even pay shipping.

DDM's customer service and quality control is not up to par with TRS.

DDM ship from China....TRS ship from Atlanta, GA.

Ok... you guys got me convinced :). Thank you for the feedback on this product. I really appreciate it.
