Hello!

I installed my heli-bars on my 03 R1 yesterday, but I think I might be missing something. I installed everything according to the directions, but there was no way to "locate" them rotationally. In other words, there was no boss to push them against so that they would both be rotated to the same angle. I just tried to get them both about even and tightened the pinch bolts to the recommended torque. Am I missing something?

I am not sure about the 03. I installed them on my '14 and there were stops to keep them from rotating around and this lined them even for each side.

When I've installed them on each R1 I've had, I did this:
Pick a point that is the same on each side of the bike, such as the tip of the rearset peg. Take a tape measure and measure from the end of one Heli bar to the tip of the rearset peg. Make sure both are equal.

I think that's what you were asking for, right?

Yeah, that's actually almost exactly what I did, I was just worried that they might rotate since there were no stops.

I love it, though they're overpriced for what you get. I'm a broken old bastard, and they really take a load of pressure of the wrists. Now I just need to reform the seat.
