I'm currently looking to get an '04 R1, in Silver. My dealer is trying to locate one in the crate. Are they that hard to get? I saw one for the first time at a dealer when I was out of town on business. It was a Silver R1. I knew I was in trouble the moment I saw it:D So anyway my local dealer has been in contact with his Yamaha sales rep and has had no luck locating a dealer that will swap an R1 for something else. The rep says that thats the only way I can get one.

Is anyone else having difficulty buying one of these bikes? Man, I've got the cash and all I need is for the dealer to call and say they found one and I would be right down there to pick it up!

I have been in the same boat for some time. Also in Indiana. Found Reds and Blues on a regular basis for the last three weeks, but no Silver. I should have mine Monday now, was suppose to be today. I know where one more is going to be monday, but I'm not telling! Because if mine doesn't show up where my deposit is monday...I am getting it! Sorry...If I get mine Monday, I will reveal the location of the other.

Call Steve Manley - Road Track and Trail Muskogee OK - 1-800-yamaha2 It is South East of Tulsa. I found my blue 04 sitting in the window and my dealer here still doesn't have it from a deposit in Jan. He has more bikes coming in without deposits - they are the bomb at the dealer as well--- treat you right! I live in Little Rock and drove there to pick mine up--- It is worth the drive. Tell him Doug Clark sent you. I told him I would let you guys know.
