Dose lowering the forks through the tripple clamps by 5mm make much of a difference? :confused:

I"ve got a 98 R1 and i raised mine 4mm in the yokes and i found it calmed it down a bit,and held a tighter line when gassing it put of turns.
But hey try it you can allways put it back if you don"t like it:D

Going on the advise I lowered the front today by 5mm, it was quite easy to do. Race stand at the back trolly jack under the headers, no worries.............

Taking it out for a spin tomorrow, let you guys know what happens next.............

Lowering the forks in the triple clamps will slow down the steering response. Raising the forks will quicken the steering, but it will also increase the R1's tendency to headshake and increase the potential for a tankslapper. I would recommend a steering damper if you raise the fork tubes.
