$140 for a pair of Metzler M1 Sportecs tomorrow at a bike gear shop here...

I have brand new Michelin Pilot sports? i believe.... since my bike's brand new.

ill probably run into a deal again but are they worth getting whether it be to replace them now or just let em sit around for a while...

dunno... what do you guys think?

Buy em now... those M1s are getting discontinued and that's why they are at such a low price. They are good tires, I used them on my 2000 R1... went thru 3 sets. (3 fronts and 6 rears)

Just make sure to keep the tires in a controlled temperature room, out of the sunlight and they will last until you need them. :yesnod

Good tires, I used to run them before the Pilot Powers came out. They don't last long if you are twisting the throttle and riding on the track, but for the money not bad. You can get Pilot Powers for about 245 with a 190 on the rear for the set now from tire express.

how much hassle is it to fit a 190 to your sv1000? i love those things and if i wasnt on the r1 i would be on the sv. But imho it is just right that a 1000cc bike should have a 190 :bash

I had the M1's on my 2004 R1 last, and I liked them a lot better than the Dunlop 208. They last me about 4500 miles just driving to and from work mostly, so they wore out in the middle. The profile of those tires when new feel a lot better than the D208. I just put on some Pilot Powers, and they make the bike feel like it wants to lean hard in the corners, definitely for aggressive riders.
