I just installed the Micron slip-on and removed my cat on my 04 and it seems to run great under acceleration but holding like 5k rpm it seems to be out of tune. This is my first FI bike, do I need to get a Power Commander to fix this?

BTW it's a lot louder than I thought it was going to be, pretty close to my Micron on my 00' R1.

Did your dyno chart have the air/fuel ratio on it? If it was already kind of lean in the 5K to midrange area, i'm sure the cat removal and slipons will make it worse.:fact

I dont have an '04 but yes it seems like a power commander would cure this

It felt a little lean before, so I guess that's it. I was just hoping to put the pipe on and leave it at that for a while. I guess I'm off to spend another 300.00!


I haven't posted sound clips yet, I will though.. It Sounds great!

I'm just kinda bumbed that now it needs the PC and I don't have one to put in. I hate it when my bike is not in perfect running order........ I guess I will order it on monday with overnight shipping, so by tuesday - all will be good and back to the dyno...

You just made it worse by adding a slip on. Get the PC3r and have it tuned out.:hellobye

R1LOVERI saw that Micron is now selling the Powercommander, Calling it the Micron mached PCR. It will come maped for your bike. I don't know if any oyther maps are available yet?

how about some pic's. Did you go with the C/F?

Just read the motorcycle-usa review of the '04 and the guy commented on surging at small throttle openings even on the standard bike.
