Wassup all,

First of all, you guys have an awesome forum here. Everyone seems to have a lot of knowledge and no hesitation to share it, so that's pretty cool.

Secondly, I've noticed that a lot of you guys have Mig highmounts. They look friggin sweet, but I got two questions:

1. How's it sound? I use to have an Akra on my R6, for comparison.

2. What's the difference between all the different styles? I think they have carbon/carbon, carbon/aluminum, and all aluminum. Again, I think that's what they offer.

Well, thanks in advance for the help.

:machinegu WELCOME:machinegu the Mig will be louder than the Akrapovic and the high mount is mainly for looks( I like it) as far as carbon/carbon,carbon/aluminum,etc there is no real performance difference just look and heat transfer. I can ride my bike for 30 miles and reach down and grab the can(carbon) and it is just warm to the touch, where as the alumnium can will roast your ass after 30 feet.Hope that helped a little

Yep..Twisted is right.

If you want performance both the Akra slipon and full will give you some more HP (full will give you more of course).

The Mig is all show and no go (but do you need more go???)

Hey Twisted... with a high pipe (aluminum can) mounted so close to the tailpiece have you ever seen/heard of the heat damaging the tailpiece???

rubch: Welcome aboard :hellobye
Hope to see you stay chat with us and share your stories too. :crash

Blue Streak it is not THAT close to the plastics and it really doesn't get THAT hot either to start melting or tone the plastics to another color. Nope. I think that was accounted for when they made the high-pipe.

rubch: I got the MIG high-pipe on mine and I got a few videos with a camera onboard and also some older footage from when the bike had another color scheme on it.

One video can been seen here:

And here's another.. just walking around the bike:

I'll get that other footage online if you want.

hey thanks a lot guys,

by the way, does Mig have a webpage showing the difference in look between the carbon and the carbon/aluminum?

yeah, and thanks Swedie for the video clips. Your bike sounds sexy as hell... that was extremely reassuring.

and no, I don't think I'll need any extra hp... for now.

mig exhaust

hey yall,

I just recieved my mig carbon fiber high mount exhaust system, and this thing is sweet. I hope this thing sounds as good as it looks.

Ok guys, this also. I've seen where yall take and talk about past experiences with ordering parts and had trouble and also where yall praise places also. This is my experience:

I ordered a high mount micron for my 1999 yamaha R1 from starcycle. I paid shipping on the part and waited for it so show up. Well I recieved a piece of paper on my front door from FED-EX ground saying it was a C.O.D. order when the shipping was already paid for. Well, I call them and let them know that my pipe was like 20 miles from my house, and they needed to clear this up for me so I could get back on the road. Well I, get this, I! needed to call them and tell them what happened. So I call FED EX and they tell me that STARCYCLE needs to call them or fax them a release form. So I get fed-ex's fax number and give it to starcycle. Well of course they are going to fax a release to fed ex and problem solved. right? Well another attempt of fed-ex trying to catch me home with no luck resulted in another note on my door about the money for COD. (DARN IT, IT ISNT C.O.D.) so another call to starcycle and they are going to get it straight. 2 days later yet another attempt of fed-ex trying to catch me home resulted in another peice of paper on my door saying final attempt and the part is going back to california. Great. another 3 to 4 weeks without a pipe, and yet have been credited on my credit card. (getting impatient also)
THEN MY FRIENDS, THERE WAS LIGHT!!!:rock
My buddy told me about Second Look. You know, the guys that sell seat skins. Well, just turns out that they sell all kinds of stuff for sport bikes. He had reciently ordered his scorpion pipe from them, so I'd give them a try. I call and talked to Mark (cooool guy). He priced me for the same pipe that starcycle had, and he beat their price by $60, without knowing what starcycle had quoted me on before. :rock I was so impressed, that I wanted to know about some more pipes, and found out that THEY SELL MIG HIGH MOUNTS!!! So what did I do, I bought my mig high mount for about $35 bucks more than what I was going to buy a micron high mount for at starcycle. Now fellas, thats alright.
Call my boys at second look and see what they can do for yall, I'm impressed and I have a new exhaust king. They just don't do seat skins anymore.

Thanks yall (hope this wasn't boring)

:sleep

:butt bye bye starcycle

:hellobye hello second look

I bought it used that way . Cambridge Powder Coating in Cambridge Ontario has the same color . I have to go there in the next week or so . I can get a price and the color name for you . They have a blue that would look good with the slower blue R1 also .

Dave :)
