don't know about the legal ramifications but I actually like the look of the mirrors. Not to mention the essential safety they provide with seeing behind you
I have seen a few without mirrors. Most probably have bar end mirrors. In california you are only required to have 1 mirror. If you only have one it must be mounted on the left side. Most states that would be a correctable citation.

I have bar end mirrors on mine. For me anyway, i can see better with these that the stock mirrors. Half of the stock mirror reflection was me. With the bar ends, there are no obstructions in the mirror. Downside is, you have to look down to see them. But after a while, you get used to it.

Sorry for the dark pics, I only had my cell phone.
The dark pic. is how the bar ends look. The other is a close up of the mirror. These were bought from McCoy Motorsports.

Every state is different but in NY all you need is one mirror. So on both my R1s I did greggs mirror covers with a CRG bar end mirror. It looks much cleaner that way.

Rizoma mirrors would be my next option if I couldnt do the CRG bar end mirror.

I use vortex block offs and one CRG bar end. I agree it looks better and actually works better than the stock antennas
