Hi. I'm considering making a few modifications to my 05 R1's exhaust (can't quite afford a completely new exhaust) and I'm looking for any legitimate suggestions / observations.

I'm thinking I'll cut the EXUP valve pipe out and TIG in a replacement pipe, remove the servomotor cables, cut the catastrophic converter out, TIG in a replacement pipe and install some good slip-ons. I have installed a PCIII and will install a race air filter with the slip-ons. I'll certainly get it dyno'ed & tuned.

Am I leaving anything out?

Has anyone here done this before?

Did the cat and the exup valve, along with a and r baffles for my brother last weekend. Make the bike a bit more responsive.... Also did block offs, and removed the charcoal canister.

Thanks. That's enough motivation for me. BTW, what grade of SS and what TIG rod did you happen to use? Would you do anything differently now?
