My 05 r1 won't crank?

I have a 05’ R1 that won’t crank.
I put a brand new battery and starter relay and the dash lights come on but my headlights won’t come on and all I hear is a click. Won’t crank or anything. Could it be a relay or rectifier or stator or starter? What could be the problem?

Test the start circuit cut off relay. Test the neutral switch. Test the clutch switch. Test the side stand switch. If all that is good, bench test the starter.

Also, how many volts does the battery have?

My 05 has a little sequence routine on the dash lights. Does yours get through that?
Start circuit cut off relay is good, battery is brand new fully charged, if it was the Neutral switch the light wouldn’t come off and the clutch switch it would still start in neutral and the side stand kick is fine. Would the starter motor cause that problem? I mean it don’t crank at all just click the fuel pump primes.

It does make it through that routine.

Starter motor, or a fuze inline ?
Picture of the starter relay? If it is Chinese, it may be backwards and you may need to swap the cables over.

Also take a really good, close look at the wiring harness, and any connectors, between the ignition switch and the starter.
It takes a tremendous amount of current to crank the starter, and turn the engine over. Look around the connections,
for discoloration, blackening, browning, green mould, etc,,. The solution is to bypass the connector, by soldering
new wires from one side to the other. If you or a friend have experience in electronics, it'l be easier.

Every connection, junction, and connection between the starter push button, and the starter motor, is a potential point of failure.
Magneto, starter motor being help up by something. Do the lights dim at all? Throw a multimeter on the battery when attempting to start and see how far it dips.

Update, I changed the stator, the starter motor another new battery freshly charged, a new starter relay, lights on the dash comes on but the headlights won’t go to start it and just hear the fuel relay buzz and that’s it no crank or anything. Could the fuel relay be bad?

Give the 6 pin coming off the right side clip on for the run kill switch a tug.
Check your main switch(ignition) to make sure the resistance isn't too high. It could be corroded and have enough connection to run the minors but not crank or run lights. Trace the wires from the key barrel to the plug. Turn on the key and measure the resistance between the red and brown/blue pins. Should be less than one Ohm. Remember you are only checking the key side of the plug. Not the bike side. Also, it couldn't hurt to measure the resistance on the blue/yellow and blue/black pins.

The kill switch????
The kill switch????
Yup, that connection can be loose or corroded and if it is, it will stop the start switch contacts.
Pulled the ignition relay on the front left, and seen a lil bit of rust around the terminals can it stop from cranking?
getting ready to spray all the connectors down with electrical cleaner
Get yourself a multimeter and check it. You can pick up a decent one for less than $20.

How do you test the relay I have a meter.
