Basically, on the filtered side of the airbox there is going to be lower than ambient pressure. This will draw vapors out of the crankcase. With your current set-up the crankcase vapor has to push its way through that filter, which does cause some restriction (not much). What you have there will definitely allow it to escape (also possibly oil, as others mentioned). The best solution is to pull the vapors out using either an air pump (EG: from the AIS) or my plan to use exhaust flow.
