I just used my new Aim solo2 timer for the first time over the weekend. The track I rode is in the database and the gps system picked it up automatically. I basically just turned it on before each session and let it auto-shut down after. When I got to the hotel I downloaded the data onto the computer software and it looks like it was only capturing a few seconds at a time , recording 86 laps??? If you can see the column labeled “test date” look at the time stamps

I had to send mine back to get hardware fixed. It worked once and then stopped. Mine was GPS sync issue so not this exact problem BUT if it thinks you’re doing 30 second laps perhaps it’s a syncing issue, just different. I just got mine back last week and had it at the track on Friday and it worked flawlessly.

Thought I’d mention my issue so you know they have issues..

When downloading, my habit is to "unselect" all the laps, then just individually select my fast lap(s) of the session and only download those.

I contacted Aim, sent them my data and they told me there was some gps problem. They had me do a firmware update, remove all tracks from the unit itself then manually select tracks as needed. The tech told me they’ve been having problems with motorcycles and I may have to send the unit in for repair. I will get to test it out this weekend; I expect to be mailing it in..,.
Thanks for the post!

For sure man. I went through this same process. They thought it would be a firmware update but then I ultimately had to send it in for repair. The turn around was quick and it’s been working flawlessly. Hope you have a similar experience.

So were you getting a bunch of mini lap times that were irrelevant as well? All of my completed laps do show up but I have a bunch of irrelevant mini lap times in there too. I usually just select the fastest lap of the session to download but it would be nice if were nice and clean with only completed laps to chose from. Wondering if this can be fixed. Thanks

I got maybe three full laps out of 2 full track days (maybe accurate/full laps, maybe not-who knows??) I didn’t spend $400 for something that doesn’t perform the way it’s advertised. The folks at Aim seem to be willing to help, and they fixed Kwalker’s timer. I won’t give up on this; kind of pissed I have to pay to ship their bad unit back to them to get it to work.

Yeah that sounds pretty bad. I get all of my completed laps but there are a bunch of false lap times in there too. Hopefully they will address your issue. Keep us abreast

I didn’t have this exact problem, but rather an issue that made GPS synchronization unstable or straight broken. I can tell you that I do not have any mini-lap times like have been described so that shouldn’t be accepted as normal. If I pull into pit lane and pause, it will start a new session and if I end up pitting I do sometimes see a session with 1 lap that is smaller than a completed lap but it is clear why that’s the case.

Well, I did the firmware update, deleted all the tracks on the device as instructed, and tried the timer again at the same track. Same malfunction; it recorded 10-20 seconds at a time, multiple times each lap. I called Aim and they had me send it in to "tell me what's going on"; I said I want them to fix it...don't really care what's going on. We'll see.....

Well, I sent the timer into Aim service location, arrived there last Friday. They called this afternoon and said they found a “couple of issues “ and fixed them. Told me everything is working the way it should be. That’s cool and all, but don’t they check these things out before shipping for sale? I spent another $40 sending it to them between shipping and insurance 😑
Anyway, They shipped it out today UPS and provided tracking #. I test it out in a couple of weeks.
