Some may recall I had an '04 R1 that I sold, to give up some power and get a 600cc bike for the track only. Got the '99 R6 bike.

What are my impressions, you ask? Holy chit....why didn't I do this earlier??!!
This was the best track time I have had ever. Less power but so much fun.
Going down low and passing bikes on the inside and outside whenever. Didn't care much if some liter bikes passed me on the straights. All the fun is in the twisties.

Here is a shot of the bike and me in action (I am buying some pics from the photo guy...he takes great pics).
The track day was at Cresson, TX on Nov 5 with RideSmart. Was a kick arse event too.

I understand...I think the R1 is still great on streets, but on the track, I will have to say the fun factor swings over to the R6 for sure.
I guess I owe thanks to my racer friends who tried to enlighten me about the 600cc track bikes some time ago.
For you, who are in a decision situation - choose the 600cc bike, you will not regret your decision. :fact
