Anyone know the part number for the SideStand safety switch for an 03 R1? My dealer is so stupid they cant figure it out. They already ordered me the wrong part twice!!!!!!!! I need to know the part number so I can get the right part.

thanks for the info guys... however I did some searching around on the yamaha site and finally found it. Its under the electrical 2 section #35 part # 5PX-82566-50-00 (switch, side stand)

I am going to call my dealer right now and see if they are smart enough to at least right the part number down correctly and order it.

just got off the phone with my dealer.... they want freakin $40 for this switch.... this is pissing me off. My bike has 400 miles on it and I have already had to replace the neutral safety switch... and now the side stand switch.

How can I by-pass this switch????

yes.. its covered under warrenty but only if the dealer installs it. Right now my bike is apart getting stuff chromed and painted. It would be a big paint to load it an take it to my dealer. I am trying to talk the service manager to give me the part and let me install myself. The point is that my bike should not have this problem being this new. I think I m just going to rewire it and get rid of the switch all together. One less thing to go wrong.
