Just picked up my 2018 R1M last Saturday, 11-17-18.
I’ve been away since I sold my 2007 R1 back in 2008. Looks like I’m back.
I’ve only put 68 miles on her so far, but I’m loving this one.
Too bad I picked her up just in time for winter lol.
As soon as I got her home the passenger pegs and rear seat had to go.
Solo cowl, CCU and GPs all installed before riding her for the first time last Sunday.

Heated gear (I had a long sleeve vest and chaps and gloves way back when, helps until the roads get bad.
I've ridden ice snow sand when young on small(ish) light bikes, not on a sportbike.

When it gets cold enough for heated gear they start spraying de-icer on the roads. Great way to make a bike look 10 years old in one winter.
There’s those occasional nice winter days though.
My bikes are just toys, not transportation. So I can wait for nice days lol.

good point above actually.. yes there's also the cheapo stuff that home-owners use which make use of some amount of sand..

all that shit is out there on just about any local roads you would ride mid-winter...
your average cage commuter is tracking that shit everywhere. :yesnod

plus its fvcking cold out, wind-chill is no fun :lol :no

winter is for moddin' & repairs / maintenance
