for those people in the northeast, mostly new england. When do you people usually put your bikes back on the road or take them out for the first time. and what should you do after your bike sits most of the winter.

I usually go out in late February. But that's only the test runs. The serious knee scraping starts mid March or early april.

Where in ny do you live?I used to live in saratoga springs love to ride out there.All my riding buddies are still living there,i now live in lee mass.I go back home every weekend during riding season.My bike is put away till early march.SUCKS.

I ride in the winter, but cold tires are not the best for leaning the bike.

Yeah Im with you Maxprimal I live in NY and every now and then I get my bike out and rock but it is hard because I always get tempted to do wheelies. And Scott keep your head up I use to live in Mass too in Amherst and in Springfield and I could not take the cold.

I'm in Maine and it seems to snow every day. I keep my bikes in a heated garage now, so I just charge the battery, stabilize the gas, clean and cover. I rely on snowmobiling to satisfy my urge to ride. The big issue in the spring is not the cold but the sand that's still on the roads. Picture this. The roads all have atleast 1/4 inch of sand and the only bare spots are where the cagers' tires go through it. Corners are worse because that's where they put the most sand. Alot of riders go down in the spring here not because they are rusty from sitting all winter but because the roads still suck. Its usually Memorial Day before they are really good.

Anyone going to the Vanson Open House this spring?

But we usually get it all cleaned up by special machines that go and sweep it up. I love them!

It snows right now.. and there is already half a meter of snow. Was -21c tonight when we fired off our bombs.. this going to be a long winter.
I also took time to look at the weather reports.. it will be -5 to -10c for another week :cryin
