Got a Sony DCR-TRV17 digital video camera from my wife for my birthday. The thing is really cool but I can't download videos to my computer yet since I don't have the needed hardware/software. Any recommendations on what to get? By the way I came up with a killer idea for a home made tank mount for the cam that will be cheap and not damage the bike but still hold the camera securely!!! I'll post pics as soon as I fabricate it.

get pinnicle 6.0 from ulead! Its awesome software and I'm almost positive it will work with your new sony. BTW, that cam got a kick ass award from Maximum PC not a bad cam....for 1100$ cha ching!

I just got the same camera a couple months ago. Didn't the camera come with some software??? Mine did but I also had to buy the firewire card so I am using that software. I believe that is Pinnacle Studio 7. Let me know what your camera mount looks like. Also anyone know of any camera mounts that don't place the camera in your way of leaning over??????????
