Thought some of you might be interested in the new Harris mounting kit for the Ohlins SD121 steering damper.

Fit and finish is superb. Took about an hour to fit. Price will be around US$ 150 incl. post but excl. damper!

Take care

Drilling

There is no drilling on frame or triple clamp.

Lots of damper manufacturers used the 6mm fuel tank forward locator for damper location but this kit ties it to the top front fairing 8mm mount as well (by cnc'd bracket) so it is a really solid mount. Here's another view.

Doesnt really look that bad. Plus, if you look at how the dampner moves its going to go away from the tank when you turn the bars in either direction

I just bought a 2002 R1 and I am really interested in purchasing a steering damper. Is the ohlin's considered one of the best ones, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Just wanted to let you guys know that European Motorcycle Accessories has this kit (Harris Mount with Ohlins damper) for USD $399. I just bought one, and will install it this weekend . In my opinion, this is a better deal than the Scotts for 349, 359, or 399 (whichever price you can get it for). I was originally going to go with the Scotts, but I have a StemStand that I use for my Valentine One, and therefore I need to have access to the opening in the stem.

I'll tell you guys one thing...if you do any track days with your R1 you'll wish you had a damper. I had mine on the track last month, the frontend does get wobbly under throttle on exits.

I think Cisco's looks very good. I'm going to buy one soon.
