So I think ii over filled it. should I drain some out? I have started it and let it go up in the motor. I have not rode it yet.

the lines next to the sight glass are where it is ok. you are on the high side of acceptable.

Because the underside of the engine block is the same. The difference in the 5VY and 4C8 are the heads.

And the pistons, and the rods. Running gear, case and cylinder are all the same though. So yea, just the heads and stuff.

Wonder what happened to OP's case numbers. In Texas, the cops will impound your bike for that. Don't know the law where you are, but you probably want to get that all squared away...

FWIW, more is not necessarily better, I always fill to the top mark of the oil level indicator. At 28,000 miles on my '15 R1 using exclusively Mobil 1, I haven't noticed any decrease in the level from one oil change to the next.

Don't know about the engine case number, seems suspect though.
