I asked a micron tech about removing the baffle on my slip-on, and he said that performance would suffer as a result of backpressure loss.

Is he full of it? or is he correct?

I really want my bike louder at lower rpms

Exhausts are finely tuned. You would probably lose some performance, but it might not be enough for you to notice.

what is a slashcut?
Cut your exhaust pipe before the catalytic converter. Go without the exhaust cans. In all reality, that'll be the same thing as if you take the baffles out of your cans. :crash

Its about $300 from the company, but its a rip off...just go to a muffler shop and have them slash cut one for you...itll take some fab work to get it right on the 04+, or just take your exhaust cans off, and have the exhaust shoot straight out the cat...you can slash cut the cat...awesome!
