ok new to the board but i have posted a few times, just wondering what turbo most guys run with an R1. I have an 07 R1 with a few mods and thinking about going the turbo route. I also have a 92 mitz 3000gt vr4 with stock 9b tdo4 turbos and wondering if one of them would work? im going the tdo5 route with the car so i have 2 tdo4 turbos sitting around. Im going to leave the internals of the engine stock for now, also if someone knows about turbo mapping is there a way to know when boost would start with a turbo?, I think if it would start boosting at around 6-7k that would be good, thanks for any replies.

that turbo should be a good enough size for the R1
the compressor map is the best way to decide what turbo you want with what power you prefer

there are also a few programs out there that can help with the size turbo that would best work

T-25 or T-28 is common for bikes with a stock bottom end.

Going to have to buy a welder, order some pipe online and start fabricating. After some practice you should be good to go on the headers. I think making the plenum is the hardest part.
