Is there a good place that gives you a breakdown of all the options that an R1M comes with? Considering 2015 - 2018. Do all R1M come with same options, or do some have fewer than others? How do I check that? I've been browsing slowly and see 2015s with 10k miles, asking for 21k, while some 2017s I see for 18 or 19. See some 2015 for 16 or 17. So a bit disparity in price. Only explanation would be some have more options. I want to get the full list of all options and from there, create what i want, compare to what sellers have. Greatly appreciate help here. Thanks.

the other explanation is that some people think their bike is worth way more than it is.
asking prices and selling prices are two different things - some people are on meth given the asking prices they want.

If you post links to the bikes you are looking at, there are people on here who can give you a realistic estimate of what the actual bike is worth given year / mileage / modifications etc

I'm wondering, is there a list of standard options that every r1M has, and a list of other options that one can add on? That's what I am trying to figure out.
Standard option would give me starting point, and add ons would be on top of that.

I know that I believe 2018 includes clutches up and downshift i think. 2017 has quickshifter

Good to know too. These are the things Wikipedia won't tell you. That's the stuff I'm after. Gracias
I guess there’s currently 3 generations of R1, 15 to 17, 18 to 20 which added down quick shift and ohlins EC2. 20 to current which added euro 5, much harder ecu to jailbreak, and some slight engine mods to add back power lost due to euro 5 exhaust. I’m sure there were a few other things that were added, but that’s all I know based on watching way to many YouTube videos. Look up the 2018 R1M and 2020 R1M on YouTube and I’m sure you will get a better explanation between the upgrades.

Thank you sir ampfore. This actually really helps. I'll look more. Found out 2020 added ec2 ohlins....so looks for me tha it will be better to unrestrict vs shocks which will help on track more. My body Size will likely need different spring to work right. I'll have to tune it then. So shocks plus ecu for me are best bet.
I've been doing clutchless upshifts at track for years, so quick shifter is a nice but a trinket now.
So ecu, then shocks for suspension, resale value, maybe aftermarket exhaust to lose some weight, and everything else comes stock pretty much. Would want it gp et up for I can. Other than that, no more I need.
Based on responses so far, looks like 2017 or already unrestricted 2020.
I'm even considering R1, since won't be going back to track likely. Can take extra $ and buy used cheap truck....well see. Wife wants cheaper, but I get feeling I put left over money from my bike fund. Into acct, and it will make its way to New couches or renivations....I have no need for any of these.

So shall see. Selling one of my cats to get bike. Out of country now, someone was going to buy but I'm in Tahiti now, so turned it down...no rush selling either.

I think the key here is the suspension. Make sure you get the one you want. Base, Ohlins EC1 or EC2. It gets tough when you know you have to do springs. I just went from a Panigale S with EC1 to the R1 without, and from a road riding position, I made a mistake. The Ohlins on the street is gold. On the track it’s less on an issue because I run the ohlins on fixed.

Good luck with your choice.

Thanks. I actually like movement under me at the track. It's my feedback from bike. Street has debris etc that you'll never know it's there.
Yeah. Once I sell my car, I'll be mire focused finding a bike. I'm actually away now in Tahiti. Someone wants to come test it. But I had to decline. No worries though. Really buying it to gt to work and for joy rides.
Thank you for your help.
