Well since I bought a couple of detectors I figured I better get a mount for the bike. I like the Stem Stand mounts, but $60 to $70 for one I couldn't justify. So $5 for a plug to wire it in and a few minutes to fabricate some aluminum and a liitle powder coat. Hid all the wires and put the plug where it's accessible but inconspicous.
Here are a few pictures. Let me know what you think. The first one is where I put the plug.

Not at all. It's adjustable forward and backward, which adjusts the hieght as you move it.

I wanted it to be a clean look. If you look to the left of the instrument cluster in the first picture you can see the plug It has a cap on it as not to look out of place when not in use. I used a plug in type because I have two different detectors to use. I ran the wires inbetween the fairing stay brace and the headlight, then under the headlight over to the wiring harness.

I don't care if the cops see it theres nothing they can do about it here. And I wanted it to be in the the open because one of the detectors has GPS on it.

I thought about that but I wanted to be able to take it with me if I leave the bike and I will switch them out from time to time.

Velocity Boy.. that looks real good...

And besides... LIMITED.... you could use that stand as a double....

When you get road fatigued.... you could simply throw the radar in the pocket.. and put the chin on the stand.. Nap time!!

lol.. jk man.. Look s Great.. nice bit o' fabricatin there!

Can you place a radar detector directly behind a carbon fiber windscreen?

You can but it won't be very effective. Even tint can reduce the effectiveness of a detector.
