recently installed a attack performance ram air kit . problems is this. during light throttle operation. the bike has the response of it running out of gas. until it actually cuts off as if it did run out of gas. I open the tank to find ihave half a tank an that theres a strong suction. like openning a snapple bottle. any body with any sort of clue let me know thanks. [email protected]

A local sportbike shop installed the unit. all the instructions were followd. plugs , vents etc. spark plugs were changed. what type dont know.? only thing i seen was that the crank vent was off. all else seems to be tight. even check the gas tank vents.

Are you sure its vacuum youre feeling. If so I dont believe thats right. Check your vent in the cap again or maybe you might have some kind of pinched, blocked, or malrouted vent line. The tank can buid pressure but not vacuum, which means it should let air in not out. If the tanks not breathing the pump will suck fuel until it reaches enough vacuum to start the fuel pump cavitating.

VIPER 333 That sounds about right. its just wierd that now that i got the ram air put on the tank wants to act up. When i get to about half a tank thats when the bike feels as though its running out of gas until it does. I stop open the tank. close it. turn the key a couple times until i hear the pump stop. bike starts an i ride off saying "what the !$$?" Is there a test that i could perform to check the gas tank. im all ears.......thanks

The tank most certainly can build a vacuum which means air rushes in when the cap is opened (lower air pressure in tank than in the atmosphere).

thanks for the help. bike is running fine. doing 173 on the atlantic city expressway with no problem. get to speed alot faster. figure ill go full exhaust next year to get the full benifit from the box. right now i have the blackwidow slip on. going to marry the m-4 header to the black widow slip-on. i know im going to miss that full throttle acceleration down low, but it will pay in the end. thanks again.
