I have a 2001 R1 and was parked next to a buddies 2002. His rear end seems to sit about 3 inches higher than mine. He said no mods have been done. So I go to the dealer and they have a brand new 2001 and sure as shit mine is lower. I weigh about 205 pounds and ride pretty aggressivly, is this just because of Yamaha's rear shock they are using? What can I do to get the rear end up where it used to be? Is this effecting my handling? Help me out here.

raise the preload on the rear shock that should help a little but be careful any adjustments are going to change how the bike handles.
