Removing the fuel tank on an 04 R1 ?

Hi all,

I need to remove the tank from my 04 R1. According to the service manual this can only be done if the tank is drained of all fuel first, is this correct ?

Anyone removed the tank from their 04 without draining it ?

If you've done this, please send me the correct procedure to do this.

Don't feel like buying a pump just to get all the fuel out of my tank... :cryin

dont know what you are doing but when I put my pc3 in I just lifted my tank from the back and had a brick under it for support....

Tank needs to go off to install my quickshifter - need to get to the ECU or to the injector coils....
