In 2006 I had a 1998 Suzuki GSXR 750 SRAD that would barely stay running. I was 18 years old and didn't really matter I still rode it everywhere. Eventually it go to the point where I had to push star tthe thing everytime I wanted to ride it because the battery would get weak from me trying to start it normally. After finally deciding to part ways with it, in 2007 I decided to buy a new bike, I was working two full time jobs and was doing pretty well. I purchased a 2007 GSXR 1000 in yellow/black/silver.....

I picked the bike up on a Wednesday after I got off of work I remember being so excited I could barely get any work done that day. Picked it up and pulled out of the dealership and made it one mile up the street and the storm of death rolled in and soaked me and my new bike, didn't really much care I just rode on. It happens everytime I buy a new toy.

Fastforward two days later (Friday)

My girlfriend shows up at my work and tells me I am going to be a dad. I was scared out of my mind. Didn't know how I was going to do it or what to do, I was kind of still a kid myself but more responsible then most. I thought about selling the bike but it being so new to me I kept it. I rode it all the way till April of 2010. Long story short my daughter needed some medical evaluations done and specialty doctors were involved and I was doing everything I could to support her and pay for it even though I had insurance it didn't matter.....I had to let the bike go. It sucked I was crushed. Hind sight is 20/20 though cause we found out a month or so after letting the bike go that my daughter had nothing serious going on and it would be an easy thing to fix and she would be just fine. I got out of riding for a bit though.

In 2011 I bought a 1999 R1 and joined this forum and I kept it for a while but it became hard to commute with because of my job requirements at the time....a couple years later I got a chopper..... I wont say much else about the chopper it's just not the same

After searching for some time and having the local DMV involved I found out that getting my old bike back wasn't going to happen, I think it ended up in a junk yard or something IDK. I finally tracked on down that was identical to it and began contacting the guy......to make another long story short, this guy, after talking for a couple weeks, basically quits answering my calls and texts out of nowhere and a bunch of promises were made empty. We had set up a date and place to meet as he was coming from texas and I was coming from tampa area of florida. Never heard from him again, sucks cause I really wanted the one he had but id rather him be sketchy ahead of time then me be somewhere waiting for him.

This past weekend I made a trip with my dad to Orlando to pick up his new motorcycle, Honda ST1300 which he loves and then we made a trip all the way to the other coast of florida to get my 2007 GSXR 1000, I searched high and low and contacted several people to find the right one and this one was it. 7800 miles and came with lots of extra parts and the rare matching helmet that was a option only at some dealerships from my understanding. I never got lucky enough to get the helmet with my first one but I got it with this one..

Anyways enough small talk here are some pics.

On the right was 2008ish, yeah i was the coolest guy I knew
Left is this past weekend

As far as plans go......I will be cleaning the absolute crap out of this bike, previous owner kept her washed but definitely not detailed like I do things, I already got rid of the wheel tape and the full throttle stickers and the mirrors will be going next. I dont know what long term plans will be, other then obviously keep it. The bike currently has a full exhaust, power commander, new tires and chain, aftermarket windshield, hid headlights and some other stuff here and there.

Ill post more about it as time goes on.....no it's no R1 and I know it's not everyones first choice but I enjoy it and have a history with it already.

I have to say, I'm, a little disappointed with your story. I thought you were going to be reunited with the SRAD... Feels like I read a story of how you located the mistress and got back with her...

I apologize, I never meant to let you down....we just go back way to far and the history and the stories between us are irreplaceable so let me try and turn things around a little bit.

I HAD ZERO LUCK WITH THE SRAD BIKE FROM THE DAY I GOT IT

The ride home from buying it i almost got hit by a lady on her cell phone in her minivan coming off the florida turnpike and she actually pushed me over in between her and a 18 wheeler. Then it wouldnt start on its own so I went to get that fixed and the shop I took it to smashed the front end against something and cracked my front fairing pretty bad and broke my windshield so when we went to pick it up it wasnt fixed and they proceeded to tell me it came in that way. The owner of the dealership my dad had bought three bikes off of over the years so they knew each other and my dad is a very honest person, needless to say the dealership owner told me and my dad that he gets $20,000 busa's in his shop all day and that my bike was just a play bike and it was nothing so he didnt feel he should have to put the money up for fixing the damage. ( I could say more about this but why bother)

I posted the SRAD for sale on craigslist and it was on there for a solid 2-3 months and I never heard a peep from anyone interested. I was asking I believe $3100 and one of my biggest selling points was a brand new clutch, new rear tire and and awesome carbon fiber vortex sprocket sticker I just added....gotta put new jewelry on my B!%ch you know what I mean.

A guy I hung around with in high school ends up emailing me to buy it and asking me about it, I didnt realize till later who he was when we were on the phone, small town actually. He tells me if I can ride it up to his place of work (some mom and pop pizza place) he will gladly hand me the money and buy it. So I had a friend follow me and I sold it.....Now him being a friend I made sure and disclosed everything i could possibly imagine about the bike and told him about the starting issue. 3 days later he calls me and tells me the engine is blown and I have to take it back.... I laughed cause I thought he was joking, he proceeds to tell me that in the state of florida he has 3 days to back out of our deal and me give him the money back. I told him good luck with the bike cause I had already bought the yellow one you see above and I wasnt going to be buying anything back.

Again he told me the engine was blown and I screwed him. I asked him if he had tried push starting it like I had been doing and he said yeah that was no problem and that he would ride it to me and show me.......think about that for a minute. LOL this kid was no mechanic by any means I maybe he is having a hard time getting it to start and thats why he thinks the engine is blown or whatever. I inform him if he can ride it then the engine is blown. He tells me I screwed him basically. I told him I disagree and I am sorry he fealt that way but I told him to tell me what it was he thought I was dishonest about and he said just forget it. I even told him about stuff I had issues with that i had fixed just so he was aware of my history with the bike.

Fast forward about a month, he calls me and tells me there was an adjustment made on one screw and it fixed everything.... I was like what screw? he said at the carb......1998 was the first year for fuel injection. I said well thats awesome im glad to hear, he never apologized anyway. He was one of those guys you liked being around for the first 20 minutes and after that he was too much anyway. Fast forward another week, he trades the motorcycle for a honda civic hatch back, the kid he traded too poured water into the engine before trading supposedly and i saw the bike again one time after that but never again. Same story, the kid he got the Honda from screwed him and blah blah blah....now he pops up on my facebook from time to time, he practices martial arts and posts a million posts a day with 0 likes be given.

Ill have to post some pics of my bike. It was actually nicely done. It was a 2004 Z06 Corvette Blue, Carbon Fiber Graphics, White wheels i believe, Chrome Yoshi and polished frame.

I love my R1 but i do plan to purchase the 2006 blue yellow cbr 1000rr. It's been a long time coming for me to get that bike

On a side not, this day came much quicker then anticipated. Funny i just posted this the other day and here it is. The picture in front of Hardees was on purpose.

I was 18 years old (2006) and i had just bought my first sport bike, it was a 1996 Suzuki GSXR SRAD 750. Went to purchase the bike and the owner said the title was electronically filed at the dmv, my dad was with me. I was pissed ww drove all that way for nothing. My dad tells the guy we will give him half the money now and take the bike and when he gets the title we will give him the rest, the guy says ok.

3-4 days laters we drive halfway to meet this guy to pick up my title. We met him at Hardees and me and my dad rode our bikes out there. We get there grab the title and sat down for lunch. About 10-15 mins later a guy on this exact bike (2006 CBR 1000 blue/yellow limited edition) shows up to eat.

At this point i have already had problems with my SRAD and i was pissed, wouldnt start from the battery after 3 tries and in terms caused me to push start it.

Im drooling over this bike the guy has, couldnt stand him though he was about as cocky and big headed as they get. We finished eating, he sat across from us and we all left and i remember even taking pictures of his bike. Fast forward 13 years and here we are lol.

That's funny. I always had a thing for R1's over CBR for sure. But this was just the right combo for Honda and colors and I always loved it but i wouldn't take it over my 06 R1 Anniversary either.

What about the zx7 in the pics ?? I used to love the zx7. It was my favorite right up until 1998 when the r1 came out.

You would be shocked how many people ask me about that bike. Everytime i post a picture with it someone inquires about it. I had a Hayabusa for sale about two months ago and in the background when I first posted it was the ZX7R and i probably got about 25 emails in the first week, not about the Hayabusa but about the ZX7R lol people love them. They really made a lasting impression on the sport bikers in alot of good ways. I had an SRAD first and no one barely gave a second look at it.

Im selling it though

Here is my add

Wow from the looks of the pics you would think it was a super low mileage bike. I’ve had 2 zx7 and wow fairing parts were expensive for that baby. Hard to believe how heavy the pieces are on that bike. But it was the shit in my eyes right up until the R1 came out. Actually the R7 was is and always will be a dream but I knew it just wasn’t going to happen. Lol so the R1 has been my passion since 1998. I’ve always been a Yamaha fan with the exception of the love I had for the zx7. It’s so weird seeing one in person nowadays they look like a dinosaur. Lol but it sure is a pretty one.
