Also can anyone recommend a decent route from Mulgrave (wellington rd) to the spurs?

i usually go up mtn highway. its not that i don tknow how to do it, as obviously i dodge off work a bit this time of year to go up the spurs, just interested to see what alternatives i have, i went the lilydale way last tim eand it was excruciating. took the turnoff for wandin b4 lilydale too to cut a bit out.
