I'm looking to get a pair of riding boots and I need some input from you guys. Since I've never owned a pair which brand is the best to get? Because they don't have a lot at the dealer I may just have to order them. Can I assume the boot size is the same as my sneaker or do they run small or big? Any input would be appreciated.

Alpinestars GP tech boots are the best I have ever worn SIDI race vertebrae are good also but they squeek when you walk. You usually want to get about a 1/2 size bigger then tennis shoes

I agree with twisted 100% Alpinestars are the best boots available. They are all that I have ever worn.
Most comfort, best looks and they last longer than a horny chimpanzee on a viagra IV !

Anyhow, the current boots I ride with are pictured below. They are the S-MX boots, and they are my favorite. Shop around though, there is a company that will beat any advertised price net or paper! I just bought a pair of Alpinestars Gp-Plus gloves for $135.00
Most everyone else is selling them for $179 smackers.

I also wear Alpinestar S-MX boots. Here the dealers get free shipping, so you can order a small size and work your way up to a pair that fit. I have had them for this season(approx 20,000km), and the comfort is amazing. The other feature that makes them worth the bucks is the grip; when I put my foot down at a stop, it doesn't matter the surface - wet, oily, sandy, whatever, they plant. Not so with the variety of workboots I had before. The only flaw is that they are not waterproof. SIDI makes a waterproof version of the Vertebra boot which might be similar to the SM-X's.
