What do you guys think about riding with people on the back of your bike? Do you ?

On my R1 I have yet to ride with ANYONE on the back. My wife hates riding... my kids are too small to take on the back and even if they were bigger I probably would not. (wife would kill me :D :machinegu )
I have had people on the back of my other bikes a ton of times and always rode more cautiously when they were on the back.

The only time I ride agressivily with someone on the back is when they also ride sportbikes.

I HATE being on the back of someones elses bike. I feel so 'control-less'

So how about you? Babes only? Spouse only? nobody, your mother.....???

my mom yep! but only once :D

I've had all type of passengers, short, tall, fat etc etc.. I'm okay with it. But the bike want to wheelie all the tape and it makes it hard to keep up with the rest ya know.

But sure, it's nice sometimes to have a girl on the back.

And just as you.. if the passenger is a biker... I'm not light on the throttle... :rock

I sat on a Gixxer 1000 and the guy wheelied like hell.. all the time. I was sick after that. I rather have control. I was like.. umh.. am I supposed to lean this much backwards?!? hey, this is scary.. hehe

I totaly hate riding with a passenger. You become so used to your bike almost like you're part of it. You know how to move it around and don't even think about it. But the minute you put someone on behind you it throws everything out of balance. That's why I'm glad my girl friend would rather ride her own bike than tag along as a passenger.

I don't mind riding someone on the back but 'd I'd rather not...I hate when the passenger moves all around, it throws my concentration off....

My girlfriend use to lean on my back all the time ( tlak about sore wrists especailly during traffic ) plus she would always move around.....so I bought her a bike so she can ride now....

Plus I got a seat cowl so if anyone does ask, I just point to the cowl and tell them sorry but it's a one seater...

I have to agree with the lot of you in a way,,, but then again I really do enjoy having my girl's D tits :boobies ,rubbin up on my back:D
Altho them D boobulars are alot of extra weight to lug around, and if she isnt wearing a bra, and one boob swing out out in a turn that means lowside! :lol . But really I don't mind do to the fact of knowing that when we get off the bike ill be all up on them ;) :D

... yes I am a boob man :yesnod hehe

My girlfriend used to ride on the back, but then I married her, and now she doesn't. I have taken my Mom out for a spin, but I ride differently with a passenger. Also, before any passenger gets on, they get "the briefing". I don't want a passenger to look over at me from the hospital bed beside me and say "Did I do that? Sorry":p

Nice zit there on the left.

It takes skill to be a good passenger and I haven't found too many good passengers. The worst are people who ride themselves. The are always leaning and looking.

Remember to put the passenger pegs back up. My friend's wife busted him this way. :rock

That is not a zit!!!!!

It is a Eye Trick!!!!! Concentrate on it and move your

Just some flicks I took at Myrtle Beach last year of some chick and the R1's in the background.

I much prefer to ride without passengers. But I do feel obligated to give my wife a ride. She always complains that her knees hurt after riding for like five minutes, and I drive to fast, and I pass cars when I shouldn't and I take corners too fast.....the list goes on.

Giving it some thought....

ridng on the back of a R1 must be very uncomfortable for the passenger. And you must be getting a lot of headbutts from the passenger when you stop hard.

i prefer no passenger. unless its an 'emergency' --the only people i dont mind riding are other sport-bike riders. there have been a few times that one of my riding partners had to drop off their bike for service or something and i rode them home. they sit back and let me RIDE. they dont put the frikkin kung-fu death grip on you, they dont bitch and complain about going too fast, cornering too low/tight, they dont whack your helmet.... so, on a regular basis, i do not like riding anyone. dont get me wrong... ive had many chicks on the back of my bikes... and had a good time with all of them... but, putt-putting around really sucks. the only cool part of riding 2-up is when they get off and you can finally rip-ass!:butt

My take on passengers

Let's face it, the R-1 is TERRIBLE for the passenger, and the extra weight so high and rearward is an abomination in handling terms. The bike should have come monoposto. The first things I did to mine when new were reflector removal and passenger peg removal. I've still got them, but I've never hauled a passenger, and don't intend to. My kid has borrowed the bike to take his girlfriend for rides a time or 2, but it CAN"T be comfortable at all. My previous 2 rides before the R-1 were a 97 GSXR-750, before that a 95 900 rr , and they all sucked for carrying a passenger.
My wife flew down to Monterey to meet us at Laguna for WSB wknd 5 or 6 years ago, I picked her up on the 900 rr. It was OK, but all she remembers are the wheelies thru the downtown tunnel and feeling like she was going to push me thru the bars under braking. I wasn't really being a hooligan with her on the back, just with the weight bias the damn thing wheelied everywhere. When we were younger she was a TERRIFIC passenger, only weighs 110, and loved corners

I am the first to admit

That there IS something very sensual about riding with a good looking gal.......... hmmm. maybe a bike for just THAT purpose would be a nice choice:)
When My kids were young I DID take them for very short , very slow rides in the neighborhood we lived in then. They had to be big enough to rest their feet on the pegs, and I wore a thick belt around my torso that they fixed their hands to. Obviously, helmets and so on. I can't really say it was anything other than nerve racking for me, but the kids LOVED it, and within reasonable bounds certain risks are what makes so many things enjoyable. The shoes on the other foot for me now with my boy, and God forbid any serious injury or such happen because of racing, but he understands that as well as anyone at this point, and all's I can do is watch and hope. When he doesn't come around in a race it's a pretty intense feeling until you know he's OK.
My little wife rides a very hi performance 17 hand thouroughbred horse that weighs 1250lbs. THE HORSE intimidates me WAY more than a motorbike, but I guess we all have acceptable levels of risk that we take, eh?
