pretty hard question to answer since there isn't a big enough sample market to gauge the price off of.

personally, i wouldn't buy one. and i'm thinking most R1 shoppers would have to save a LOT before they went the 'salvaged' route. maybe 1 grand or more? (US dollars).

Salvage title

well sell bikes all the time with a salvage title. They seem to go for about 500-1000 less than the would with a good title.

Only real problem with a salvage title (besides whatever damage there is to the bike) is that it can be much more difficult to finance something with a salvage title. Some banks will not do it at all, others do not care. Good luck.

Ive been in the car business and a salvage you would not even look at. I would say if it was worth 9000 with a clean title then its maybe worth 5500.00, just figure no one will want to buy it with that title. What year is the biek how does it look , does it shake at high speed. personally just stay away from it.

ok here is the deal it was my friends bike that he got from his brother--in-law that took a brinck to the plastics to get out of his loan. i have had it since september and no that i just went to register it from nevadA to cali it comes up salvaged but not in nevada since the claim was in cali. i told my buddy and we are trying to work out something fair so i need you guys advice. i paid 8000 for it with 4000 miles on it w/ a slip on, all new fairings and completely new paint. the only thing missing was the decal kit but i like it that way. it is a 2000 and rides perfect no prblems at all.

say what

you paid 8k for a 2000 R1 with 4000 miles and only a slipon, but totally screwed up fairings? I think you paid too much bro.. I doubt a bike as you describe would sell for more than 6k, especially with the salvage..

just for perspective purposes, I got my 2001 R1, 2000 miles, full 2bros system and euro undertail, clean title, for $8300.
