:) So, sitting around the garage with the guys from down the street talking Mods - And I just happen to have a brand-spankin' new 03 R1 sitting there. We look at the ugly monstrosity they call a license holder - Could they make it any bigger?!?!?!?!? My neighbor also said to look for a LED integration into the taillight - I saw a few fender elim kits that kept the rear blinkers - Why? How hard could it really be to tie-in the blinkers...

Found the link here, so I called Samanna Systems, Inc. I saw the really cool video he had of the taillight working - I was blown away! This is exactly what I was looking for! So I went to the Contact Page, and noticed he was in Lakeville, MN, only about 40 miles from me. But then I saw he was closed due to a surgery, and would be unable to perform the upgrade. I e-mailed him anyway, and before I realized it, he called me back! We spoke on the phone for a while, and I agreed to bring my taillight assemble to him Sunday morning so he could get started...Before I knew it, he was done! Same-day service!!! Not only did he have the Taillight integration, but he also threw in a fender eliminator when I bought the Blinker flasher and led license light! I wasn't even looking for a "deal" - He did such an excellent job, I wished he had more items I needed!

When I picked up the light and other gear, we got to talking about R1's, and before I knew it it was over 2 hours later...Not only does he do a bang-up job, but he really knows his stuff! I learned more in that 2 hour session than I did the last motorcycle book I read! He had a knack of explaining things so thoroughly that even I could understand...Then he started talking about his newest device - the Servo Eliminator..Pretty cool idea for racing setups.

All-in-all, I wish all vendors had this excellent service! Buy his products!! Use his service!! You will not be disappointed!!

And, oh BTW - Has anyone else mounted a radar detector / Laser Shifter on their bike? Saved me a few times! :sneaky Notice the rear shifter on the bottom of the license plate.

So the whole mod from Samanna Systems cost me (if I remember right) $169 for the whole new taillight (he strips your existing board, puts in his own pc board, and reassembles it with his mod), $free license plate holder, $49 LED license light, and a $30 Libertek flasher. Pretty cool use of $230!:rock

What are you referring to when you talk about "Has anyone else mounted a radar detector / Laser Shifter on their bike? Saved me a few times! Notice the rear shifter on the bottom of the license plate. "

Also, where is the license plate light in this picture? Thanks!

The little black bar at the bottom of the license plate is the "LASER shifter". You also mount 2 small shifters under the front light. What it does is "shift" the IR beam from the cops so they cannot lock-in to you. Then, after correcting your speed, you press a small botton to shut off the "shifter" and allow the cop to lock-in (so he doesn't realize you have a shifter - He just thinks it took extra long for the gun to lock-in). You just drive on by!!:riding

You hook this up through a Escort radar detector (8500 or SoloS2) and it all works together as a complete system.

Most of the driving I do is commuting to/from work about 30 miles - Lots of anal cops in my area, and I love any advantage I can get! I've been saved many times!

When I get some pics, I'll post them!
